Our Whakapapa

Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust (KFST) - has been in operation since 1999. The service was established by the Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust who continues to govern as KFST. The Trust was a result of the tripac partnership formed between Maatua Whangai o Kirikiriroa, Specialist Education Services and Te Kohao Health to provide the Family Start programme in Hamilton City.

​Our Board of Trustees now changed to the following representatives:

- Rachel Stephenson (Board Chairperson)
- Hinemoerangi Ngatai Tangirua
- Professor Polly Atatoa Carr
- Toni Welch - Moko Tauariki
- Moko Tauariki

The partnership was formed because of the shared belief that Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust was a means to empower and strengthen individuals, and through individuals their families and whanau and communities. Provide a programme that endorses the kaupapa of Tino Rangatiratanga. Provide intervention to those in need at the earliest possible moment through strength-based activities.

Hence the recording of KFST’s primary kaupapa–philosophy/value base as being:

Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust (KFST) Referral Form

Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust (KFST) delivers free, home-based support services for all whānau in Waikato and Waipa.

Support/services you can refer to:

  1. Te Korowai Tauawhi - Family Start(early Intervention for whānau with pre-school tamariki)
  2. Kāinga Rua (transitional housing)
  3. Poipoia Te Mokopuna (ECE Support)
  4. Te Waka Tamariki (collaborative approach with whānau & tamariki up to 18 years)
  5. Tiakina Te Rito Rangatahi (Youth Support)

By clicking the submit button at the end, the whānau being referred consent to Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust receiving this information and then contacting you to discuss what services/supports the whānau require. All information entered below will be kept confidential by Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust and used for the sole purpose of assessing the suitability of referrals.
